After exploring Antarctica, Rusty, Jack, Coco, and Bluey began their journey back to Australia. Jack asked Rusty if he could scrub the deck, but before Rusty could respond, his mum called to pick him up. Rusty promoted Jack to Captain, telling him to just keep going in the right direction because he was standing closest.
Meanwhile, Jack’s dad was on his way to the school with Lulu. They noticed a kangaroo crossing sign, and Lulu wondered why they never saw any. The Sat Nav gave them directions, but then the phone ran out of battery, leaving them lost. Jack’s dad pulled over at a strawberry farm to ask for directions, but the workers were backpackers who didn’t know the area. One of them had a phone, but there was no reception. Despite this, Jack’s dad bought a punnet of strawberries for Lulu before heading off again.
Back on the boat, Jack suggested Bluey work on the sails and Coco steer. However, Coco got distracted by her mum’s call and crashed into a coral reef, getting washed away. Jack finished repairing the boat, but then a giant octopus captured Bluey, leaving Jack alone and without supplies. Jack’s dad, still trying to find the school, stopped at a gas station where the owner, Maynard, drew him a map in exchange for a strawberry. Maynard warned Jack’s dad about a shortcut, calling it a “bit of a bush road,” but Jack’s dad decided to take it. The road was rough and bumpy, bouncing Lulu’s strawberries all about the car, and the car getting very dirty. They crossed a grassy clearing where, to Lulu’s delight, they got to see a mob of kangaroos.
As Jack’s dad arrived at the school, their destination in sight, Jack noticed a flock of cockatoos and realized he was almost home. Pretending to make landfall, Jack crawled from the boat, gasping that he never gave up. His dad approached, having finally made it after also not giving up, and praised Jack’s determination as Lulu offered him a strawberry.
