Bandit wakes up to a surprise birthday greeting from his family, who are all staring at him with big smiles. The kids, Bluey and Bingo, tell him to stay in bed because they’re going to make him breakfast in bed. Chilli reassures him that it won’t take long, joking that they know how he gets when he’s hungry.
In the kitchen, Chilli outlines the plan: she’ll cook a quick omelette, Bluey will set the tray, and Bingo will make a birthday card. However, Bingo reveals that she already made a card in kindy and wants to help Mum instead. She starts by getting the eggs out of the fridge, but ends up dropping two of them on the floor. Chilli tries to clean up the mess, but Bingo wants to do it herself. Chilli then attempts to start cracking eggs, but Bingo wants to help with that too. Chilli decides to take over the cleaning and sends Bingo to fetch a bowl. In the process, Bingo dumps a bunch of other bowls on the floor.
As Chilli puts the bowls away, Bingo tries to crack the eggs by counting them out and setting them on the counter. However, they roll away, and she manages to save three out of four. She then tries to crack an egg by slamming it down on the edge of the bowl, but ends up catapulting the bowl across the kitchen, knocking Bluey over and spilling orange juice everywhere. Bluey offers to clean up the mess. Bingo tries again to crack the egg, but ends up spraying herself and Chilli with egg. Meanwhile, Bandit calls Chilli to ask where his breakfast is, and Bingo sprays them both with egg again. Chilli takes over making the omelette and tries to get Bingo to help Bluey, but Bluey’s already finished. Chilli tells Bingo to play with the salt-and-pepper soldiers instead. She notices that the little one is not allowed to guard the queen because they’re no good at it.
Chilli whips up a quick omelette with the last egg and has Bluey run a piece of celery up to Bandit to tide him over. However, she then tells Bingo that she made the omelette wrong and needs her help making another one. Bandit comes down to the kitchen, but the girls won’t let him have the omelette. They borrow eggs from their neighbors, Pat, Wendy, and Judo, and in a series of attempts, Bingo gradually gets better at cracking and whisking them. However, she ends up missing the pan and pouring the eggs onto the floor, and later flips the omelette out of the pan. Chilli grabs it and tosses it back in, and they finally manage to plate up a slightly burned and eggshell-filled omelette.
Just as Bandit is about to eat a houseplant out of hunger, breakfast is finally served. He devours the omelette in record time and declares it the best he’s ever had. Bingo is excited to make him another one, and Bluey helps her carry the breakfast tray out of the room. As they’re leaving, Bandit remarks that he thinks there were some eggshells in the omelette, and Chilli tries to make a joke about omelettes. However, she’s interrupted by the sound of the kids dropping the tray.
