Chilli had just finished tidying the living room, but Bluey was eager to work on a panda puzzle on the floor. She promised her mum she would tidy it up when she was done, but then Bandit was ready to take her to the Trampolinium. Bluey left the puzzle and followed her dad, reminding her mum that she wasn’t finished yet. On the way to the Trampolinium, Bluey spotted the library and asked her dad if they could go there. He agreed they could go after their trampolining session.
However, they spent longer at the Trampolinium than expected, and by the time they drove back home, the library was closed. Bluey was disappointed and felt her dad had broken his promise. She was still grumpy when they got home, and her mood wasn’t improved when her mum reminded her that she still hadn’t tidied up the puzzle. Bandit tried to reason with Bluey, explaining that the library was closed, but she was upset. Chilli was also frustrated with the mess, and the situation escalated until Bandit suggested they shouldn’t make any more promises. But Bingo reminded him that he had promised to always love his children, and Chilli pointed out that promises are okay as long as they can be kept. Bluey and Bandit agreed not to break their promises, and Bluey eventually said goodnight, with her mum reminding her once again about the mess.
The next day, the family went to the library, and Bluey asked her dad if they could play “Toddlers” there. Bandit agreed, and they all headed to the library. Bluey and Bingo were excited and quickly got in the car. Bandit, curious about the game, even made a childish request at the front desk, asking a stranger to read a book to him. He also asked Bluey if he could borrow her book bag, and she agreed, but was surprised when he gave her two huge and heavy books. Chilli intervened, reminding them that promises shouldn’t be used to trick others. Bluey and Bandit made another promise not to trick each other with promises. Later, at the playground, Bingo got stuck on a tall dome and asked her mum to promise to catch her if she jumped. Chilli promised, and Bingo jumped safely into her mum’s arms. Bluey realized the value of promises and decided not to go on the flying fox when it was her turn, choosing instead to leave with her family. As they settled in for the night, Bandit looked at his sleeping children and said, “I promise I’ll always love you.”
