Bingo and Lila were on the Heeler porch, playing a game of rock-paper-scissors. Lila won, and Bingo declared it a lucky win. Just then, Bandit arrived home with a brand new water slide, which he promptly set up while a curious caterpillar looked on. Before long, the slide was ready for action.
The girls had a blast sliding down, with Bingo exclaiming that they were the luckiest kids in the world. As they played, they encountered a tiny leaf bug that had narrowly avoided being squashed. Bingo carefully helped the bug out of the slide, and it joined the caterpillar that had been watching from the sidelines. Soon, Lila spotted a ladybug, which Bingo freed, followed by an ant, and then another. Bingo confessed that she liked ladybugs more, but emphasized that they shouldn’t squish them.
As the girls continued to play, they tried to move the slide away from the ants by rolling up its edges to create walls. However, a grasshopper managed to sneak in, causing frustration. Even closing their eyes while sliding didn’t work, but in the chaos, they accidentally saved the life of an iridescent beetle. Lila pointed out that it was lucky their tactic hadn’t worked. The girls were stumped, but then Lila suggested they take turns, with one girl inspecting for bugs before the other slid down. This plan worked beautifully, and luck seemed to be on their side – especially for the caterpillar, which survived all the commotion. Just then, Bandit charged in, sliding down the track, but ended up careening off course and into the bushes. The caterpillar, now safe, was carried over to an agapanthus leaf, where it blossomed into a beautiful blue butterfly. The butterfly even joined Bingo and Lila at kindy, where they played another round of rock-paper-scissors. “That’s lucky,” Bingo said with a smile.
