In the Heeler household, Chilli is attempting to follow a TV yoga routine when Bluey and Bingo burst in, pretending to be rude tourists and snapping pictures of her from behind. Chilli easily redirects Bingo, but Bluey is curious about why she can’t take pictures of people’s bums. Chilli falls back on her age and experience, saying “I’ve been on this planet longer than you.” Just then, Bandit walks in, and Bluey asks him to bend over, but he declines, saying he wasn’t born yesterday. Bingo doesn’t understand this phrase, so Bandit explains it to her. This gives Bluey an idea for a game, where Bandit will pretend to have been born yesterday and need everything explained to him.
As “Born Yesterday Bandit,” he requires explanations for everyday things, like the little blue and red things (which are making noises) and what a name is. He discovers a stool and introduces himself to it, thinking it might be alive. Bluey and Bingo have to clarify that it’s not. Bandit then picks up a strawberry and asks if it’s alive. Bluey is unsure, but Bingo declares it’s food and suggests he try putting it in his mouth. Bandit loves the strawberry and is excited about food. Chilli enters the scene and introduces him to the concept of wives and putting away dishes, explaining how these two things are related. Bandit feels overwhelmed by all he has to learn and wanders off to the backyard, where he finds the sun troubling. Bluey reassures him it’s supposed to be there. Bingo asks him to push her on the swing, and after a few attempts, he finally gets the hang of it, but ends up hurting himself.
The family takes a walk down the street, where Bluey and Bingo introduce Bandit to cars, birds, and rubbish. At the bus stop, Bandit intensely explains to a stranger that the sun is meant to be there, causing the kids to drag him away. Bluey tells him he doesn’t need to share this information with everyone. When they encounter Pat with a meat pie, Bandit snatches it and takes a big bite, getting sauce all over. After returning the pie to Pat, Bluey advises him to make a quick escape because Bandit is still trying to get the pie. Bluey explains to Bandit that he can’t just take people’s food, but Bandit doesn’t understand why. Bluey settles for telling him to trust them because they’ve been on the planet longer. Later, at the park, Bandit asks about a leaf and decides it’s alive after holding it up to the sun. Eventually, Bluey decides it’s time for the game to end, and they head back home. While Bluey and Bingo unpack the dishwasher, Bandit continues to explore, happily examining another leaf in the backyard. Rocko greets Bandit, and Bandit tells him very intensely that he has nothing to say about the Sun.
