Bluey - Calypso

During the school day, Bluey and her pals immerse themselves in different activities. Teacher Calypso guides the group with sage advice and melodic tunes, except for the puzzling Pretzel.

Bluey is at school with her friends, listening to Calypso tell a story about a gnome. When she finishes, Calypso breaks into a song, and the kids get up to play. Most of them scatter to start their various games, but Pretzel just flops down on a rug and lets out a groan. Calypso sits down at a nearby table and tries to entice Pretzel with a stick, hoping it will spark some inspiration, but he’s not interested in playing anything.

Honey comes over to Calypso and asks if she can have a gnome for the village she’s building. This sets Calypso off on a tour of the room, visiting the different kids and their activities. She stops by Honey’s village, which is just a tree and a hill, and suggests that the gnome will need a place to sleep. Then she visits Bluey’s fish and chips shop, where they’ve run out of fish, and lets the kids know about the new shop. She also visits Chloe, Coco, and Indy, who are playing with baby dolls in a crowded play house, and Rusty, who is building a house with boards and wooden supports. Calypso lets Rusty know that Indy is looking for a new place to live, and she also checks in with the Terriers, who are building a Roman fort to protect the kingdom.

As the playtime continues, Calypso sits back down with Pretzel, who is still sighing on the floor. Honey comes back to show off her updated village, which now includes a hut for the gnome to sleep in. Calypso suggests that the gnome will also need a forest to take walks in. The playtime evolves, with Indy moving out of the play house and looking for a new place to live. She hands her baby to Rusty and takes a job as a waitress at Bluey’s fish and chips shop to earn money for rent. She even gets to serve tea to Coco and Chloe. Eventually, Indy has an idea to sell chips to the Roman army, and Bluey loads her up with a stack of pillows to represent the sacks of chips. As Indy tries to deliver the chips, the Terriers form a shield wall to protect the village, and Indy bonks into their shields, stopping her in her tracks. The Terriers offer her protection again, but she still doesn’t need it.

In the end, Pretzel starts to get into the play, picking up the stick and pretending to fish, and Calypso joins him, suggesting that when the fish bite, they can take them to the chip shop that’s run out of fish.

And the rain stopped, and out came the sun.

[all] Ooh!

♪ Sister Rain has left ♪

[groans]

[Bluey] This episode of Bluey is called Calypso.

Look at this lovely stick I found, Pretzel.

I don't feel like playing anything.

Okay.

Calypso, can I please have a gnome for my village?

Well, let's have a look.

Well, the gnome will need a place to sleep,

so...

Okay.

[humming]

You busy, Bluey?

No, not yet.

This is a fish and chip shop,

but we've run out of fish, so it's just chips.

Okay. Well, be patient.

Oh, I had no sleep all night.

-Ooh! -Ooh, sorry, Coco.

My, it certainly is crowded in here.

It sure is.

I might have to move out soon.

Did you know that a fish and chip shop just opened next door?

Did you hear that, Roderick?

We'll have to pop over.

[humming]

That looks good.

I'm building a house.

It's going to have a bottom room and a top room.

Wonderful!

I think Indy is looking for somewhere to live.

Hmm.

And the Terriers have made another fort.

We're Romans!

I can see.

Now, you are here to protect the kingdom?

Yes, Calypso!

That's good.

Do you need protecting?

Not right now, thanks.

[chuckles]

[chair scrapes]

Ugh!

Calypso, can I please have a gnome now?

Let's have a look.

I made a place for her to sleep.

Lovely, but...

she'll also need a forest for her morning walk.

Oh, yeah!

You cheeky baby.

You're so beautiful.

-Hi, Bluey! -Hi!

Ooh, you have so many customers.

[laughing] I know! I'm so busy.

What's going on with you?

I'm moving out.

Ooh! Where to?

I don't know.

Hi, Indy!

Do you want to move into my house?

Yeah!

You can rent the upstairs room for 10 dollarbucks.

Great! But I don't have any dollarbucks.

Hmm.

Maybe you need a job.

Yeah! I could be a waitress for Bluey.

Can you mind Polly?

-Sure. -Bye!

Do you want to learn how to build a fence, Polly?

Indy! Do you need protecting?

Not right now, thanks!

Okay!

[humming]

Calypso, can I have a gnome now?

Well, let's have a look.

Well, it's looking wonderful!

Is there anything else you can think of

that a gnome might enjoy?

Hmm...

Yes!

Here's your cups of tea.

Thank you.

Are the fish and chips almost ready?

Almost. But we're out of fish.

Oh, Indy, here's your dollarbucks

for being my waitress.

Thanks, Bluey.

-[imitates hoofbeats] -Hi, Rusty.

Here's my dollarbucks for the upstairs room.

And I brought you some chips.

Thanks!

Okay, I'll just get back to work.

Do you want some chips, Polly?

Do you need protecting yet?

Not yet!

[all] Okay!

Actually...

would you like some fish and chips, Terriers?

Yes, please!

Can we have enough to feed our whole army?

Okay.

But it might just be chips, because we're out of fish.

[all] Okay!

[humming]

Bluey, the Terriers want

enough fish and chips to feed an army.

Wow! Okay.

How about these are all sacks of chips?

Yeah!

One sack, two sacks, three sacks.

-[Calypso humming] -[thudding]

[gasps] Look at this!

This is beautiful!

[all] Ooh!

Is it ready for a gnome to come and live here?

Of course it is.

Look at it! [chuckles]

[laughs]

[Calypso humming]

Being protecting Romans is a little bit boring.

Maybe we should be...

invading Romans!

Mmm, maybe.

Five sacks! Six sacks!

There you go, Indy. Take them to the Terriers.

Okay, Bluey!

[Calypso humming]

The gnome watches over all the people.

[gasps]

Indy, no!

You're gonna step on my village!

Terriers!

[all] Hut!

The village needs protecting!

[all] Hut!

[together] Tortoise formation!

[all] Yeah!

Good one, Terriers!

[all] Hut!

Oh. Hi, Terriers.

Here's your chips.

Sorry, we're out of fish.

[laughter]

[humming]

[chuckles] Well, thank goodness for the Terriers.

Well, I guess you can sit in my boat, if you want.

Oh. Thanks. I won't take up much room.

I'm a fisherman.

Mm. I can see.

Have you caught anything?

Not yet.

Well, just be patient.

They'll bite eventually.

Oh. If you do catch a fish, let me know.

Oh, okay. Why?

Because there's someone I'd like you to meet.

[triumphant music]
