Judo was getting a bath, and it was taking a while because Chow Chows have long, lovely fur that requires a lot of care. When the bath was finally finished, Wendy told Judo she could go play. As Judo walked by the window, she saw a truck driver unloading a big mound of dirt in front of the Heeler’s house. Bluey and Bingo were already playing in the dirt, and Judo asked her mom if she could join them. Wendy said yes, but warned Judo not to get dirty.
Judo went to play with Bluey and Bingo, but she stayed away from the dirt because she didn’t want to get dirty. The Heeler sisters were confused, so Judo explained that she couldn’t get dirty because she’s a Chow Chow with long fur. Bluey and Bingo asked why that was a problem, and Judo said it was because her fur takes a long time to clean. The sisters tried to think of a way Judo could play with them without getting dirty, and Bluey came up with an idea. They used a disposable roasting pan as a sled and carried Judo to the top of the dirt mound. Then, they pushed her, and she slid down the mound. Judo asked if she got dirty, and the sisters said no. Judo wanted to do it again, but the sisters said it was too hard to carry her.
The Heeler sisters decided to play a new game called “Di-di di-dirt,” where they ran towards the pile of dirt and made an impression with their bodies. Judo didn’t think she could play without getting dirty, so she went to ask her mom why she shouldn’t get dirty. Wendy was in the kitchen, trying to remove a strand of hair from her eyes while working on the stove hood with a spoon. Judo asked her mom why she couldn’t get dirty, and Wendy explained that it’s because Chow Chows have long hair that takes a long time to clean. Judo understood and went back to the Heeler’s house. The sisters had found a way for Judo to play, and they gave her a face shield, apron, gloves, and rain boots. Judo limped toward the pile of dirt and made an impression, but it was hard to run with the protective gear. Then Bandit arrived with a water hose and made mud. Bluey and Bingo jumped into the mud, but Judo decided to go home because she didn’t think her special clothes would keep her clean.
Wendy went outside, and the Heeler sisters asked her to let Judo play in the mud. Wendy eventually agreed, but Judo had already decided to leave and was sitting on the stairs. Wendy asked Judo what was wrong, and Judo said she was worried about getting her fur dirty. Wendy looked at Bluey, Bingo, and Bandit, and then she had an idea. She went inside and came out with scissors, a mirror, and a towel. Wendy cut her own hair, and Judo watched with excitement. When Wendy finished, she looked at her new style and liked it. Judo asked her mom to cut her fur too, and Wendy did. With her new short fur, Judo was able to join the game, and the Heeler sisters were surprised by her new look. Bandit decided to let the girls play in the dirt for a while longer, and Wendy sat down next to him, enjoying the fact that she had finally changed her style.
