Bandit and Chilli are in the middle of a board game on the deck when Bingo bursts in, asking for a slice of pavlova from the fridge. Chilli suggests she snack on some edamame instead, like Bluey is doing, and when Bingo refuses, Chilli teases that she must not be that hungry. This sparks an idea in Bluey, who then invites Bingo to play a game of Café with her. Chilli decides it’s time for Bandit to step in and take care of the kids, while she focuses on her next move in the game.
In the kitchen, Bluey sets up her café on the counter, and Bingo plays along as the customer, ordering a slice of pavlova. However, when Bluey goes to get it, she finds Bandit standing guard in front of the fridge, dressed in a toque, apron, and sporting a drawn-on moustache. He’s armed with a ladle and frying pan, and insists on speaking only in broken French. Bluey tries to communicate with him by speaking slower and louder, but Bandit responds by serving up a fridge magnet, followed by a plate of edamame. Bluey resorts to pointing, and Bandit eventually hands over a small crumb of pavlova, then a bigger piece, which he promptly covers in tomato sauce just as Bingo is about to take a bite.
This leads to Bandit getting fired from the café, and by the time Bluey retrieves the pavlova from the fridge, Bandit has already set up a rival café, serving edamame. He convinces Bingo to have a cook-off, and the competition begins. Bluey decorates the pavlova with extra fruit and sprinkles, while Bandit and Bingo work together to shell the edamame, discovering that they can be shot out of their pods. Bandit plates them with salt and a slice of lemon, but in the end, Bingo chooses the pavlova. Bandit, being a good loser, offers Bluey a handshake, but then calls her a name (he really called her a snot), prompting Bluey to chase him out of the room. As Chilli sits down with Bingo to finish her pavlova, Bingo shows her how to shoot edamame beans out of their pods, and after finishing, she decides to try one – and likes it.
