Grandad, Chilli’s dad, arrives at the Heelers’ home in a car driven by Ziggy, an Internet ride-sharing service driver. As Grandad gets out, he wishes Ziggy good luck with his app, though he’s not entirely sure what that means. Bandit and Chilli greet him, and Grandad tries to pay Ziggy, but the driver has already been paid online and drives off. Chilli explains this to Grandad and suggests he spend some time with the kids while she and Bandit finish making dinner. Grandad agrees, but first, he asks what an app is.
As Grandad walks inside, he’s greeted by Bingo and Bluey, who are excited to see him. They’re making cardboard phones, and Bingo gives Grandad one, explaining that he needs it to play their game of Restaurant. Grandad starts playing, but he knocks some things over, and Bluey tells him he needs to pay for that using his phone – Boop! Grandad is confused but plays along. Bluey explains that she works at the restaurant and that Grandad is hungry, so he uses his phone to order food. However, he walks over to the restaurant, which confuses the kids. They tell him to go back home and use his phone to order, which he does.
Grandad tries to order food using the app, but he’s not sure how it works. He wants to see the menu, but the kids tell him it’s on the app. He asks what kind of restaurant it is, and they say they have everything. Grandad orders curried sausages, which the kids think sounds awful, but he loves them. Bluey makes the sausages, and Grandad tries to pick them up at the restaurant, but the kids tell him to stay home and wait for delivery. Bingo delivers the food on her scooter, and Grandad pays using his phone – Boop! He asks if he did it right, and the kids say yes.
After lunch, Grandad wonders if he’s supposed to eat alone and watch TV on his phone. The kids tell him that’s what people do, and he can use an app to watch TV. Grandad is still unsure if he’s doing things correctly. He asks if anyone can make an app, and the kids say yes. Grandad borrows a crayon and draws an app on his phone, then orders a Pavlova for dessert. As a joke, he puts a toy crocodile in Bingo’s delivery box, which causes chaos when Bluey discovers it. Grandad suggests using his new “croc catcher” app to catch the crocodile.
Bluey and Bingo panic, but Grandad stays calm and tells them to use the app. Bluey runs over to see the app, then draws it on her phone and pushes it. Grandad answers and says he’ll come over to help catch the crocodile. He tells the kids to get the crocodile outside, then grab it by the snout. Bluey does this, and the crocodile lies on the ground. Grandad tells her to jump on its back, which she does. Then, they need to find a neighbor without pets to give the crocodile to. They run across the yard with the crocodile and throw it over the fence, where it lands on Lucky’s Dad, who’s hanging up laundry. Lucky’s Dad yells and struggles with it.
The kids give Grandad’s app 5 stars – Boop boop boop boop! Just then, Chilli calls out that dinner is ready. The kids cheer and run inside, but when they hear it’s curried sausages, they slow down. Grandad is happy, though, and he and Chilli walk toward the house together. Grandad comments that things have changed since he was last in the city, but kids are still the same.
