Bandit is reading the newspaper, but Bluey and Bingo are more interested in getting a pet. They already have a pet chicken named Shaun, but Bluey wants a “real” pet. Shaun, however, pecks Bluey when she calls him fake, which makes Bingo happy. Bandit tries to get Shaun to sit, but instead, Shaun pecks him because he’s hungry. Bingo decides to feed Shaun some berry cereal in the kitchen, but he refuses to eat it. Bluey offers him sunflower seeds, which Shaun tastes and then spits out. It turns out Shaun is craving pizza, and he ends up covered in grease, cheese, and olives.
After getting dirty, Shaun needs a bath, so Bingo and Bluey take him to the bathroom. Bluey uses some green shampoo, but when she squirts it, Shaun screams in pain because it gets in his eyes. Shaun decides he’s had enough of the bath and leaves the bathroom. Later, in the living room, Shaun is throwing yellow cushions, and Chilli catches him in the act. She tells him to sit, and he does, but then he pecks her bottom. Chilli scolds him, saying this behavior is unacceptable, and decides he needs to go for a walk. At the street, Shaun runs fast and takes out someone’s letters from their mailbox. Bluey scolds him, and he apologizes, but then he pecks Lucky’s Dad when he arrives. However, when Shaun sees a bin chicken, he chases after it, leading him to a bush of thorns. Bluey calmly tells Shaun to stop and come back, and to her surprise, he listens.
After all the excitement, Shaun has a blast at the park, running around, sliding down the elephant slide, playing tag and fetch, and even hosting a kiddie ride. Later, in the bedroom, Bandit lies down on the bed, exhausted. Bluey and Bingo sing Shaun a lullaby, and both Bandit and Shaun fall asleep. The next morning, Chilli wakes Bandit up and tells him that Shaun has gone on a holiday with his friends. But that’s not all – Shaun has also had four babies, just like Bandit did in the past. The babies then poke Bandit, adding to the chaos.
