Bluey - Typewriter

Bluey is sitting on a stump at the primary school, typing away on a typewriter. Chloe comes running over, excitedly telling Bluey that Calypso is telling a story. Bluey jumps up, and the two of them run off together to join their friends. When they arrive, they find Snickers, Pretzel, and Coco already seated, listening to Calypso’s tale. The story is about an old dog who spends his life sitting on a chest beside the road, begging for treats. Snickers suddenly falls over, and everyone turns to look. Calypso tells him to get up, and then continues her story. In it, a gnome appears and asks the old dog if he’s ever opened the chest to see what’s inside. The old dog hasn’t, thinking the chest is empty. Winton then runs over, asking if he can sit next to Coco, but she scoots away from him. The gnome convinces the old dog to open the chest, and to everyone’s amazement, it’s filled with treats.

After the story, Bluey and Chloe walk back to the stump where Bluey was typing earlier. They discuss the story, with Bluey wondering why the old dog didn’t open the chest sooner. Chloe doesn’t know, but Bluey decides she’ll create her own version of the story, where the old dog opens the chest right away and eats all the treats. When they reach the stump, they find that the typewriter is gone. Bluey asks Chloe where the real typewriter went, but Chloe doesn’t know. Bluey decides to ask Calypso, as she can’t be a storyteller without a typewriter. As Bluey walks off to find Calypso, she comes across Snickers standing alone, looking sad. Bluey asks him what’s wrong, and he tells her that everyone has learned to sit down except him. Bluey explains that it’s because he’s a’sausage dog’, and it might take him longer to master sitting. Snickers admits that he hates being a sausage dog, and Bluey invites him to come with her to see Calypso, who might be able to help him.

As they walk, they meet Winton, who’s sobbing because he thinks everyone runs away from him. Bluey tries to reassure him, but Winton is convinced. Bluey asks if he wants to come with them to see Calypso, and Winton joins them. However, his tendency to invade personal space causes Bluey and Snickers to run off, with Winton following. They soon encounter the Terriers, who are pretending to defend their land against the English. The Terriers try to get Bluey to play along, but she’s not interested at first. Eventually, she gives in and comes up with a plan. Bluey tells Snickers to sneak around the Terriers through the nearby trees and wait on top of the hill. Meanwhile, the Terriers argue over who will scout. Bluey instructs Winton to invade the Terriers’ space and ask them random questions, causing them to back away. As the Terriers shoot their “bows and arrows”, Bluey uses her shield to deflect them and shouts, “Snickers, now!”. Snickers rolls down the hill, exclaiming that he loves being a sausage dog. Winton realizes he’s not a space invader anymore, and Bluey continues her search for the typewriter. She finally finds Calypso and shows her an imaginary typewriter. Calypso is impressed, and just then, the wind blows away the cloth covering the box she’s sitting on, revealing the real typewriter inside.
