The episode begins with Bandit and Chilli sitting on the sofa, when Bluey and Bingo enter the room and ask if they will smooch. Chilli inquires about their interest in smooching, and the girls explain that they think it’s “romance”. This sparks Chilli’s surprise, as she didn’t know her daughters were familiar with the concept of romance. Bluey reveals that they learned the word from TV, which leads to the idea of creating a play restaurant for their parents.
Bluey takes on the role of head waitress and asks Bandit and Chilli if they’re married. Bandit confirms they are, but Chilli decides to play along, pretending they’ve just met and are on their first date. Bandit introduces himself as “Romeo McFlourish”, and Bluey informs him that he’s not on the list and needs to make a booking. She has him pretend to call and make a reservation, and then allows him and Chilli to enter the restaurant. Bingo, playing the chef, prepares baked beans, but Bluey stops her from serving them and instead hands out pretend menus. Chilli asks about the special of the day, and Bluey claims she doesn’t know, yelling to Bingo to find out. However, Bingo can’t hear, so Chilli decides to “order” baked beans.
As the meal progresses, Bandit suggests serving something more romantic than baked beans. He steps away to talk to Chilli, but Bluey interrupts with some off-key “romance music” on a toy keytar. Chilli pretends to use an imaginary toilet, and Bluey scolds Bandit for not smooching Chilli. Bandit apologizes, admitting they haven’t smooched in a while and he’s forgotten how. When Chilli returns, Bluey encourages Bandit to “be romance”, and the girls bring out a plate of food, a strange combination of dishes that Bingo has mixed together. Chilli pretends to eat it, but Bingo wants her to eat it for real, so Bandit decides to take a bite. Unfortunately, this makes him feel sick, and Chilli takes him outside to look at the moon, where he ultimately throws up.
