The episode begins with Chilli driving the family vehicle, reminding Bluey to eat her pumpkin seeds so she can “grow up big and strong”. Bluey, however, doesn’t want to be big and strong, and questions whether she should have a say in whether she eats the seeds or not. Chilli playfully asks Bluey if she would eat the seeds if it was up to her, and Bluey replies no. Chilli then says it shouldn’t be up to her. Meanwhile, Bingo asks if Grandad can take her and Bluey to his canoe, but Chilli says no, explaining that Grandad recently had heart worm surgery and needs to rest.
As they arrive at Grandad’s house, Chilli sees him chopping a stump and cries out, “Dad! What are you doing?!” Grandad runs away, and Chilli chases after him, trying to get him to rest. The kids join in, and Grandad leads them on a wild chase, using a sprinkler to spray Chilli and distract her. The kids and Grandad hide in a bush, and when Chilli comes looking for them, Bluey throws a stone to distract her. Grandad suggests they follow the creek, and they slide down a slope to the water’s edge. Grandad then covers his face in mud, saying “she can’t find what she can’t see”, and the kids follow suit.
As they continue their adventure, Grandad becomes tired and breathless, and the kids start to worry. But Grandad insists he’s fine, and they press on. They come across a wooden plank, and Grandad reveals a hidden backpack with snacks inside. The kids cheer, and they sit down to eat. Meanwhile, Chilli is hot on their trail, following the signs of their presence and eventually discovering a cluster of fur caught in a twig. She realizes where they are and sets off in pursuit.
As the chase continues, Grandad and the kids arrive at Maynard’s cabin, where they try to hide from Chilli. Maynard tries to distract Chilli, but she’s not fooled. Grandad and the kids make a break for the canoe, with Chilli close behind. They manage to get away, and as they paddle across the lake, Bluey and Bingo work together to propel the canoe. Chilli tries to swim after them, but they’re too fast. Eventually, they arrive at another pier, where Grandad suggests they take a break. As they sit on the pier, Chilli arrives, but instead of chasing them, she smiles and sits down beside Grandad, watching as the kids play in the water.
As the scene comes to a close, Chilli puts her hand on Grandad’s shoulder, and Bluey swims up to them, eating pumpkin seeds. Chilli cheers, and Bingo points out that Grandad is finally resting. Chilli smiles, remembering the times Grandad took her to this same spot to swim when she was younger. The scene fades to a flashback of a young Chilli leaning on Grandad, looking out at a beautiful landscape.
