Bandit, Bluey, and Bingo start the day by taking out the garbage, with Bandit using the wheelie bins as puppets to make the task more enjoyable for the kids. They chat briefly with their neighbor Doreen before heading back inside. Later, Chilli spends time with the kids as they wait for the bin man to arrive. Bingo receives some advice from Chilli, while Bluey uses her recorder to scare away Mister Crow, who’s pecking at their garbage. When the garbage truck arrives, they head inside to get ready for school.
As the days go by, the routine of taking out the garbage and waiting for the bin man becomes a recurring scene, showcasing the passage of time. Bluey makes progress in her karate class, advancing from a white belt to a yellow belt. She also improves her recorder-playing skills. Meanwhile, Mister Crow becomes less afraid of Bluey, eventually scaring her away from the bins. Bluey observes the moon each week and uses her knowledge of its phases to determine if it’s recycling day, which neither Bandit nor Doreen can remember. When Bluey asks her parents about her future profession, they always respond with “If you like.” At Bingo’s kindy, a new kid named Banjo arrives, and Chilli advises Bingo to try to make friends with him. However, Banjo is initially standoffish and calls everyone names, hurting Bingo’s feelings when he calls her “stubby” and says she must be two years old. Bandit acknowledges Bingo’s feelings and gives her a hug, and Chilli follows up with a pep talk the next day. Banjo gets into an argument with another kid at kindy and ends up getting his feelings hurt, which gives Bingo the opportunity to befriend him.
The episode wraps up with Bluey suggesting that she might invent a robot to take out the trash when she grows up. However, Bandit declines, indicating that he enjoys spending time with his kids during this routine task.
