The episode starts with Bandit finishing a reading of Hansel and Gretel to Bluey and Bingo. They have a brief chat about whether fairytales are real or not, and then Bandit begins telling them a story from his own childhood, set in a caravan park in the 80s. He and his brothers are riding bikes and doing skids, and Bluey notices that her dad wasn’t wearing a helmet, even though she didn’t see the actual flashback. Bandit explains that it was the 80s, and then launches into a description of what life was like back then.
As the story continues, Bandit is impressed by Rad’s skid, but then teases Stripe, who struggles to pull off the same trick and falls off his bike. Bandit tells Stripe that Nana is calling him, and Stripe falls for it, turning around to look. The girls scold Bandit for teasing his little brother, and he reassures them that he’s about to learn a lesson. Rad asks Bandit to stop teasing Stripe, but Bandit ignores him and makes Stripe fall off his bike again. This time, Rad gets revenge by jinxing Bandit, which renders him unable to speak. The girls ask what “jinx” means, and Bandit explains it to them as he chases after Rad down to the beach in the flashback. After 10 seconds, Bandit is “Skint,” which prevents him from talking.
The story unfolds with Stripe and Rad taking advantage of Bandit’s silence to play a trick on him, and Nana asking the boys if they want their fish battered or crumbed. Stripe and Rad want their fish battered, and Nana prompts Bandit to speak up, but Rad answers for him, saying Bandit wants his fish crumbed. Bandit gestures “No,” and Stripe mocks Bandit about it, pretending to say his name. Later, Nana discovers that someone has eaten all the mini cereals, and Rad and Stripe blame Bandit without saying his name. Nana chases Bandit with her sandal, causing Stripe and Rad to laugh. The girls point out that Nana was mean, but Bandit reminds them that it was the 80s. The episode continues with Grandpa Bob using a yabby pump at the beach, and Bandit struggling with his silence. Eventually, Nana helps Bandit realize that his silence is a good lesson in improving his behavior towards Stripe.
The next morning, Bandit goes to the showers by himself, as it was the 80s. He sees Stripe struggling to move in a prickle bush and sees an opportunity to blackmail Stripe into saying his name. However, Bandit doesn’t do that; instead, he just helps Stripe, who doesn’t say his brother’s name afterwards. Chilli comes to the rescue in her She-Ra costume, reading out Bandit’s name from his hat and sparking a playful argument with Bandit. The episode wraps up with Bandit and Chilli parting ways in the flashback, and the girls tucked into bed.
